Reston Interfaith was honored on December 6th as one of the 10 workplaces in the “Best Workplaces for Commuters in Fairfax County” for 2011. A special thanks to Jim Larsen of DATA and Georgia Graves of Bridgman Communications for their work in helping connect us to resources and grants for technology build-out. Reston Interfaith was the only nonprofit organization so honored. Also recognized was Cascade Technologies along with other large employers and federal agencies.
This is the 2nd year this award is being given in partnership with Fairfax County. It recognizes employers for the range of transportation options offered to their employees. The designation acknowledges employers who have excelled in implementing green commuter programs, including ride-sharing, transit benefits, biking and walking, teleworking, alternate work schedules and other strategies such as VPN and telephone access from home.
