The Westfield High School marching band has been selected to march in the 2014 Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena, California. Westfield High School is a Fairfax County public school.

Only 12 bands are invited each year to march in the Tournament of Roses parade. Bands go through an extensive application process, which includes videos, photos, and national letters of recommendation. More than 100 bands apply for the parade each year.

Westfield High’s band is the first band from Fairfax County to be selected for the parade and is only the third high school band from Virginia to be chosen in the 125-year history of the parade.

The band will appear in the Tournament of Roses parade on January 1, 2014.
